Design Success: Equality PA Annual Review

BlackOut Design was recently engaged by Paul Nardone, proprietor of Outrageous and Secretary of the Board for Equality Pennsylvania, to design the Annual Review for Equality Pennsylvania. Equality PA was in search of a communication piece to reflect the accomplishments and milestones of the organization as it has impacted the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania throughout the past year. We love a new challenge as well as the opportunity to learn about local organizations.

The mission of Equality Pennsylvania is to be the preeminent LGBT advocacy organization for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and work collaboratively to establish a comprehensive network of individuals and organizations united in securing equal rights for the LGBT community.

Our team was eager to assist with such a significant project. Paul suggested BlackOut Design for this task because of our commitment to our clients and our talent to deliver bold new designs. With the guidance of Paul and the rest of the Equality PA Board, BlackOut was able to properly showcase the accomplishments, initiatives, programs, issues and more in order to create further awareness of the past, present and future of Equality Pennsylvania.

Drawcore Poster Design

BlackOut Design’s talented Art Director, Phil Barket, generously donated his time to create the poster for the “Lords of Drawtown: Drawcore Skatepark Annual Block Party”. Phil was approached by fellow Marywood instructor and artist, Ted Michalowski, to participate in this positive community event.

Lords of Drawtown will feature live mural paintings by Ted and students, skateboard competitions, music and more on July 16th and 17th. This will be the first annual block party at the Jackson Street Skatepark.

Phil created a dynamic design to draw attention to this summer event all on his own time. We are so proud that a member of our team gets to display his art in such a positive manner.

Print Design for Pages & Places

BlackOut Design is pleased to introduce the 2010 map for the Pages & Places book festival. It has been a wonderful opportunity and experience to have been involved with such a great project.

Pages & Places began in 2009 as a means to revitalize Scranton as well as bring a new arts and culture scene to our thriving city. Last year’s festival was a great success. This new Scranton tradition is back for a second year of enrichment.

Johnson College Viewbook

Johnson College and BlackOut Design have achieved success on yet another project. We have completely redesigned the Johnson College Viewbook. The Viewbook is an integral element of any college admissions process. Viewbooks are large brochures that highlight degrees, opportunities, and more.

The Johnson College Viewbook is now welcoming, bright and clear. It will be sending a strong message of the positive energy found within a Johnson College education. The quality education that Johnson College offers is unparalleled. The impressive and creative team at BlackOut Design is proving to be the perfect match for Johnson College and its advancement.

MetroAction Postcards

We’ve been fortunate at BlackOut to have a fruitful working relationship with MetroAction. We think it’s led to some of our best work and it’s helped MetroAction maintain its status as the leading provider of small business loans and resources in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Recently, to help promote MetroAction’s upcoming business training seminars, BlackOut produced a series of print postcards that carry all of the pertinent information on the seminars and registration. The cards will provide a high impact, informative piece of collateral that MetroAction staff can distribute to their network of clients and referral partners.
