The United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties has paired with BlackOut Design to create a logo for their Rock United campaign. The event has become a Battle of the Bands fundraiser to assist low income children, families, and elderly individuals in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties.

Approximately eight local bands will be chosen to compete in this worthwhile experience. Whistles Pub & Eatery has agreed to host this Battle of the Bands. What a fun and exciting campaign with which to be involved! A panel of local celebrity judges is also in the works.

We are thrilled to participate by donating this logo. It has been a pleasure crafting a design that joins the excitement of Rock & Roll with the generosity and importance of The United Way. Hope to see you all in early October for a night of great music to benefit those in need of our support.

May the best band win!

We are pleased to introduce the new logo for the CHAD Lions soccer team! The Charter High School for Architecture and Design (CHAD) is a public, independent, and tuition-free high school in Philadelphia, PA. CHAD provides such a wonderful opportunity for so many young people. It creates a thoughtful academic environment that encourages love of learning in preparation for a higher education. Their successful soccer team now has an extra edge and motivation.

How many high school sports teams can say that they have their very own logo? Not many. A teacher emailed us to say that the students’ faces lit up upon seeing this intimidating lion with a soccer ball mouth. It has been our honor to assist in such a program.

Go Lions!

BlackOut is proud to have been chosen to work on a prestigious project with increasingly crucial implications – The National Center for Organizational Continuity (NCOC).

NCOC will serve as a clearinghouse for information and resources on the business continuity industry, a field that strives to prepare businesses of all sizes for disruptions to infrastructure and operations caused by catastrophic events.

The goal of the NCOC will also function as a training and research collaborative, connecting workers with the high-demand organizational continuity skills they need and providing networking opportunities for continuity professionals and institutes of higher education.

The first phase of our work with NCOC involved developing a logo that encompassed the mission and message of the Center. Our designers worked to create a logo that spoke to the Center’s core goal of empowering workers to handle any situation or circumstance.

The logo was only the first part of our engagement with NCOC. Check back for more news on the Center in the coming weeks.
