- Experience with configuring and deploying open source hosting packages

- Working closely with clients and web developers to determine technical and information architecture needs for various product lines
- Produce outstanding web sites consistently on time
- Work with a team to conceptualize and produce ideas based on client needs

We’re happy to announce the addition of a new member to our team! Eric Watkins will be joining us as Director of Agency Operations and will be overseeing all internal process management for Blackout Design. Having graduated from Savannah College of Art & Design Eric was hired by ad giant J.Walter Thompson and worked as a creative supervisor and lead producer for 5 years before moving back to Scranton. He brings with him a wealth of creative experience, production knowledge and organizational expertise.

BlackOut Design recently performed a complete website redesign for United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania (UNC). UNC was in need of a makeover to modernize their navigation and overall look. There was also plethora of information to organize due to the many facets surrounding such an active and positive organization. All of this was accomplished while working closely with the UNC team to ensure accuracy and approval.
UNC is pushing 90 years of community enrichment through their many programs and services. They even merged with the Scranton Council of Literacy Advance (SCOLA) in early 2011 to preserve this valuable literacy program. There are so many more wonderful accomplishments of this volunteer and non profit organization that you can now reference on their website.

BlackOut Design has just started a new relationship with Hematology & Oncology Associates of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Our talented team has designed a new logo, business card, postcard and conference banner (banner image to your right). The new look adds a fresh and modern feel to this already successful organization.
Established in 1971, Hematology & Oncology Associates of Northeastern Pennsylvania offer unique and significant care to our region. The primary facility in Dunmore has a fully certified laboratory and a chemotherapy infusion wing. Their mission is to provide quality care to their patients in conjunction with the best technologies and medicines available.
It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with such great people for this fabulous organization. There will definitely be more to come, so keep checking in to see our next project with Hematology & Oncology Associates of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

BlackOut Design has completed marketing collateral for Attorney Jason M. O’Malley’s new private practice as well as for Golden Dome Abstract, his real estate division. Through our process of design and review, we created letterheads and business cards that meet Attorney O’Malley’s vision for his law offices.
Attorney Jason M. O’Malley is a Scranton native. He attended Widener University School of Law as a means to return to his hometown with a law degree to better serve our area.
It has been a wonderful opportunity to work with this talented individual and to brand his company. We wish him great success!

Play Fore Kids is holding an upcoming golf tournament. The committee members came to BlackOut Design for a website. The proceeds go to Marley’s Mission, whose website we also designed. We were more than happy to work with such wonderful people for such a great purpose.
Play Fore Kids is a golf event and benefit bash to raise awareness and help for the Marley’s Mission cause for kids. Marley’s Mission is a non-profit organization that provides equine-based psychotherapy (EAP) therapy to children and families who have experienced trauma. Marley’s Mission arose from the personal tragedy experienced by one local family.

BlackOut Design recently completed our latest project for GECCO, Inc. and their newest addition, the Dropmaster. It was our pleasure to take their previous website and transform it into a modern design. We even received the added bonus of learning about this company and what it is that they do.
GECCO, Inc. developed the Dropmaster to help the fire protection contractor save time and labor by using this highly advanced tool while making alterations or changing sprinkler heads on a fire sprinkler system. They have seen tremendous benefits for any building that uses a sprinkler system including schools, malls, office buildings and even residential homes.

First Friday Scranton was due for a makeover. We are extremely proud of our original design, but we also know how important it is to keep things looking fresh and new.
BlackOut has supported the local arts initiative First Friday Scranton since the group’s inception. The website we originally developed has become a gathering place for local artists and art-lovers to find information on First Friday Scranton’s monthly art walks and participating businesses, galleries and artists.
It has been a true joy to watch First Friday Scranton grow. The community involvement is amazing as seen through our local and talented artists, musicians and venues. Check out First Friday Scranton’s new site in order to see our latest work and to learn all about this enriching organization.
